You can find updates from the CNIA 07 Treasurer below, along with updates from the Finance Committee.

The Finance Committee members are selected by the Area Officers and appointed by the Area Chairperson, ideally no later than the February ACM of the new panel.  The Finance Committee is composed of the CNIA Treasurer, three current DCMs, and a Past Delegate. The Committee reviews unbudgeted spending needs more than $300.  They conduct quarterly reviews of treasury reports and assist the Treasurer in developing the annual spending plan.  The Finance Committee members should also stress the importance of the 7th tradition and self-support in the Area. Visit the Contributions Page to make a contribution and for additional 7th Tradition resources.

FROM TREASURER DON H.: Above is a DRAFT of the Spending Plan for 2025: for Reflection, Input and Discussion. What are you being asked to do?

  1. Take to Districts and Groups.
  2. Provide an overview of spending – maybe the outline?
  3. Ask what to spend on and what not? That is, what are our values, needs and such to:
    a. Help alcoholics suffering AND
    b. Provide a basic service structure to support all of our servants.
  4. Share comments at upcoming ACMs and Mini-PRAASA Assembly OR email treasurer@cnia.org and finance@cnia.org.

We will discuss again in August and distribute a draft plan after that ACM, again in September and at the Mini-PRAASA Assembly in October.

  1. These are the notes.
  2. There is a 1-page outline with estimates just to see big picture.
  3. There is a long spending plan.

  1. Color coding in the plan:

a. Orange = offsetting; not real income or expense.
b. Green = trending down, likely.
c. Red = likely higher.
d. Gray = suggested change.

  1. Rows: see the Notes handout for the specifics, please.
  2. The big picture.

a. Project less spending in 2025 than 2024, overall.
b. Reflections from audience at ACM July.
i. Have one-time raising of contributions like GSB/O does once a year.
ii. Lower reimbursement of mileage?
iii. Conferences: fewer officers and chairs to PRAASA? Fewer officers to Forum?
iv. Short-term add % ‘cost’ or ‘surcharge’ to literature?
v . Spend a little less on Archives?
vi. Other? Please email at treasurer@cnia.org and finance@cnia.org.

Thank you for letting me and our team be of service! With love in service, Don H. CNIA Treasurer-Panel 74
